Ogilvy wanted to extend the benefits for American Express card membership to include more mobile, social and geo-located experiences. To this end, we pitched a shopping app that would notify a cardmember when they were near an exclusive shopping benefit that would appeal to them, based on their past shopping activities at that store, or one like it. Flash sales, shopping walking tours and the ability to share shopping events with other card members extended this premium benefit.
